Watch out for the snack attacks. It is very easy to justify what you eat when you are snacking. I got into a rigorous exercise program and so through out the day I used to snack fairly often. I thought since I was exercising, I would just work it all off. A peanut butter cup here, a few chips there, something small but fried. Try to make better choices.
The problem is those are not healthy snacks even if you are exercising, you could still be putting your self and your weight at risk. If you ever stop exercising you will still have those old eating habits, you will gain your weight back and once you gain your weight back, there is a good chance you will gain more then you had originally lost. The best way to lose weight is to get in control of what you putting into your mouth, especially if you are not great with keeping on an exercise program. Be aware of your intake. Eating less is good of course but making better choices is best. I would never suggest going cold turkey with the plan you choose.
We are a species of challenge, nothing makes us work harder to do something then when we are told we can't. If you tell yourself you can't have certain foods, then for some reason you will want them more then ever.

It is a good idea to allow yourself a specific time to enjoy whatever food you love most say, once a week. For the rest of the week it should be easier to control what you are eating if you have kind a reward to look forward to.
It may not even be a specific food, maybe you love to eat out at nice restaurants, that could be your reward. By taking charge of what you take in, you are giving yourself a much better chance to lose weight.
