Successful Weight Loss

If you want to lose weight. It is important to understand what your reasons are, and to make a plan. Your reason can help motivate you and a plan obviously gives you a road map and way of charting your results and keeps you moving in the right direction. Are you concerned with your health? Do you want to fit into an old pair of jeans, renewed energy? Make sure you are losing weight for yourself first.

Be decisive about your weight loss

There are many keys to losing weight and keeping it off. The most important step to losing weight is put your self in the right frame of mind. You must decide to lose wight and be dedicated to making it happen no matter how many times you fall off course you must get up and get right back on the proverbial horse.

Once you have made that decision to take the steps to weight loss, there are many options you can choose from to help you stay on course.

Move for weight loss

Get moving. If at first you can not commit to an exercise plan or program, just make sure your moving. Any increase in activity is a positive step forward. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. If you are at a desk all day, get up, stretch or take quick walk. If possible, try walking or riding your bike to work.


Drink water for weight loss

You have heard it a million times but it is true. Water is essential. Drinking water can help you on your way to weight loss. About 60% of your weight is water. Every system in your body depends on water. Drinking water helps to rid your body of toxins. Water carries nutrients to your cells. Drinking water can help your body function at a much higher level.

Keeping track for weight loss

Watch what you eat. No really, WATCH what you eat. Write it down. Making a list of all the snacks and meals you eat in a day for a week may surprise you. You probably don't notice how many times a week you grab a small piece of candy or a "tiny" handful of chips and don't even realize it until your really looking and keeping track. Everything adds up.

Find a weight loss buddy

Another option for success in weight loss is to get together with a friend or a group of friends who want to lose weight. This will give you the motivation and support that can help you finally reach your goal. It is always more fun when starting something new to start with a friend.

If you make the decision to get started on a weight loss plan, stay focused and keep your eye on the prize, a new you, a new attitude, higher self esteem and shopping for those clothes you've always wanted to wear but didn't feel you could.
